The women lawyers of the University of the Philippines celebrated their diamond anniversary at the Manila Polo Club last October 6. Led by their president, Tercy Villaruz, and the anniversary chair, Katrina Legarda, close to 300 lady lawyers and their guests enjoyed a fun-filled programme of “decade” performers, an audio-visual presentation that included ten “loyalty” awards to, among others, former Supreme Court Justices Carolina Griño-Aquino and Ameurfina Melencio-Herrera.

Manila Polo Club prepared a superb menu consisting of cream of wild mushroom soup with pesto oil, assorted greens with mushroom, parmesan flakes, apricots and dates (balsamic dressing), lime sherbet with fruit medley and mint leaves, medley of chicken stuffed with mushrooms and spinach, carrot mousse with broccoli fleurettes with linguini aioli and fillet of lapu-lapu in tarragon sauce, with fresh fruits and decadent cake with caramel coulis as desserts.

Supreme Court Associate Justice Consuelo Ynares-Santiago was proclaimed as the “Diamond of the Night,” and the Spirit of ’67 provided the contagious music for dancing.

Special Touches:

a) The main dining hall was draped in white cloth to which crystals were hung. Complementing the ceiling treatment, the event stylist made use of white flowers on top of off-white table cloth.

b) A special AVP was produced to showcase the 60 years of the organization and to pay tribute to ten of its most outstanding members.

c) A photo area was designated where guests had their pictures taken prior to proceeding to the main dining area. Pictures from the said gallery were given to the guests as token of their attendance.
