| Dancing, singing, and good food—these are what Katrina’s guests would remember most about her 18th birthday party. From the moment the guests walked in, they were greeted with easy-on-the-ears music by The Soul Brothers.
The programme kicked off with an audio-visual presentation done by Jojo Tatlonghari which featured the growing-up pictures of the debutante and ended with a short message from her father, (Ret.) Gen. Generoso Senga. Regal in her Parrish Espiritu Carlos creation—a full balloon gathered skirt in deep purple Thai silk with a dropped waist and folding on the bodice it was highlighted by flat swirls in chartreuse Thai silk with crystals adding a touch of playfulness fit for a princess—she entered the dining area with her brother, Gamby, for her celestial motif debut.
Messages conveyed by the the debutante’s mother, Pilar Senga and the celebrant’s closest friends and relatives filled the night. She then slipped into a purple basic column gown with front draping and uneven hemline marked with crushed chartreuse chiffon with scattered beadwork. A purple chiffon shawl attached by a crystal brooch completes the ensemble.
Entering on cue for the 18 roses, she was escorted by her father. Freshly baked brownies were handed out to guests by the celebrant’s sister-in-law, Cathy Lim-Senga for the men, and bracelets in jewel colors for the ladies. The night ended with guests on the dance floor as they took turns with the microphone in singing with the band. |
