| From day one, Myra made sure that she was on top of all the preparations. She had always envisioned her wedding to be true to the Filipino heritage – from the invitations (which she designed and produced herself) and the décor, down to the favors. She even produced a misalette with the same design elements she used for the invitations.
One sunny afternoon in March, friends and family finally saw Myra and Neal wed in a solemn, romantic ceremony at the historic San Agustin Church. Myra was a sight to behold in her off-white Vera Wang tube gown accentuated with a champagne ribbon.
At the reception, Angel Penarroyo of Tropical Blooms created a paradise of white orchids, calla lilies, casa blancas and roses on each table and swathed white tulle and gina silk on the ceiling and walls of the Maynila Ballroom of Manila Hotel.
Neal and Myra received the blessings and well-wishes of both their parents. Then, their guests feasted on native Filipino delicacies like sinupling na pancit molo sa bawang at kasoy, pato rellenado espesyal, hinomong lomo ng baka sa kabute, tinugkos na ubod ng binusang kasoy, pinausukang tanigue, lumpiang maharnila sa kasoy, bisteak na sugpo sa dayap at soy sauce, kalderetang kambing antigo, paella Filipino, pinakbet, crispy pata, and maya-maya sa gata at luyang dilaw. A big hit was the dessert buffet with maja blanca, manggamanilenia, bibingka sa latik, leche flan with macapuno, gulaman at sago, pichi pichi, bibingka monggo, guinatang halo-halo and turrones de saba.
The couple cut their five-layer bamboo inspired wedding cake by Penk Ching of Pastry Bin since the newlyweds were tinikling dance partners. The couple performed a money-dance the proceeds of which were donated to ABS-CBN Foundation. The couple also danced the tinikling to the guests’ delight. The highlight of the night was an engaging onsite audio-video presentation by Jason Magbanua with “The Prayer” as background music. |

Here's what Neal and Myra had to say about Events! Events!
"Ernest is truly a gifted wedding planner, not to mention a nice, accommodating and wonderful person, so planning for my wedding was easier than I ever anticipated.
"I should tell you a little bit about myself and my situation when I was planning my wedding and how Ernest was able to help me out. I live in New Jersey and I had to plan my wedding long-distance with the help of Ernest. I knew I would not be able to fly to the Philippines, except two weeks before the wedding. But Ernest made me feel secured throughout the whole process, like there was nothing to worry about. He replied quickly to all my e-mails (and believe me, there were many!) and answered all the questions I had. He even gave up sleep for me when I would call him at late nights due to the time difference between the two countries! He provided expert advice on all aspects of the wedding, from the preparations to the ceremony down to the reception.
"He also knows the best of the best vendors in the wedding industry. I was amazed at how he was able to find vendors that would perfectly suit my wedding needs. Sometimes, I doubted his suggestions, but after the wedding, I realized I should never have done so. The wedding went perfectly, and the guests went on and on about how beautiful and memorable the wedding was. All due to Ernest's efforts, I assure you.
"But the best thing I love about Ernest is that he is a genuinely nice person, so easy to get along with. He is not afraid to tell you when he thinks you might be making a mistake (which is a good thing!) but he is also always open to suggestions and ideas from the couple. He will bend over backwards to accommodate your requests. Honestly, I do not have the slightest idea where he gets the energy or how he is able to pull off these amazing weddings, but he does. Well, as I said earlier, he is truly gifted."
