| It was only after the wedding and when the pictures were out that we had a wedding theme—Modern Asian. The bride and groom wanted to work around with their color motif as the running theme for their wedding. The cake, specially done by Penk Ching, featured origami birds perched on an off-white base with gold bamboo trimmings. The ikebana- inspired arrangements featured roses and green apples.
Specially handcrafted by the bride, glass votive candles covered with natural fiber complemented the table arrangements. The Parrish Espiritu Carlos bridal gown featured an organdy pleated bodice capped with an extended collar, V-neck bolero. Electric pleated train was attached to an off- white Mikado belt accentuated by an heirloom brooch. The Norfolk pleating for the skirt was highlighted by crystal buttons.
On closer look, the bridal gown resembled a traditional Korean costume. The entourage members wore pale pink column dresses in chiffon with lime green ribbon detailing that appeared to be origami ribbons. Florist Gina Galang filled the dining hall with Japanese lanterns and natural fiber dyed in pink completing the modern Asian look. Soft and relaxing music was provided by The Soul Brothers.
Heartwarming speeches from Norma Maylad (mother of the groom), Ernesto Pascual (father of the groom), Jun Gregorio (the best man who flew in all the way from Australia just to attend the wedding) and Ella Pascual (sister of the bride and maid of honor). In return, the couple (shy as they are) surprised everyone with a specially choreographed dance number. Towards the end of his gratitude speech, Mon surprised Tessa and all the guests by singing “That’s All” by Michael Buble.
Special Touches:
a) The couple had a pre-wedding pictorial in Tagaytay the photos of which they used in their audio-visual presentation and their guest book.
b) In the misalettes, aside from their roles in the wedding ceremony, the relationship of each and every member of the entourage was indicated.
c) Experimentally, fruits were used as centerpieces.
d) There was a photo corner where guests had their pictures taken. This became a fun activity for everyone.
e) The bride gave all her female entourage members accessories to be worn on the wedding day to create a more unified look. |
