| Being young and dynamic, Dave and Fides chose a modern romantic feel for their wedding. Green, gold and brown were reflected in the design of the misalettes, invitation, programme cards and floral arrangements.
Fides was glorious in her Parrish Espiritu Carlos spaghetti strap A-line gown. It features a geometric ribbon on the waist accentuated with a brooch that matches her headpiece. Made from ivory silk taffeta, this bridal gown has an interesting bubble hemline to reveal hand-pleated, off-white silk taffeta. The back detail is equally remarkable with more hand-pleated taffeta.
Her entourage wore gowns also done by Carlos and reflective of the color motif. The aisle of St. James the Great where the bride walked down with her parents was lined with predominantly white blooms. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Holland tulips, gypsophilia, and sweet William. Mr. Danilo Andrada and Mrs. Aurora Andrada, parents of the groom welcomed everyone in the reception. Popular florist Gina Galang of Royal Flower Shoppe created an understated elegance look using white, green flowers.Tall cylindrical lamps bearing the couple’s monograms created mood lighting in the reception venue.
Guests had a gastronomic feast with Palms Country Club’s Thai Buffet which included shrimp pancakes, green mango salad, Tom Yam Kung, sauteed prawns with garlic and pepper, southern Thai fried fish, beef sauteed with pepper, bagoong rice, aubergine with pork and prawns, chicken wrapped in pandan leaves, pork satay with peanut sauce, and an ice cream bar for dessert.
During the reception, a novel game was introduced. In weddings, the coins in the arrhae have come to symbolize essentially the material. Today's couples embrace life and face the world together in a more mutually supportive way than before. Now, Each coin in the Unity Coins set has a unique design, representing one of thirteen universal tenets of marriage: love, harmony, joy, cooperation, commitment, peace, happiness, trust, respect, care, wisdom, wholeness and nurturing. And the greatest of them is love. Those who were seated with the word, “love” printed on their napkin rings won a special prize courtesy of the couple.
It was a night of testimonials which started with the moving speeches of the groom’s sisters—Abigail, Anna and Arabelle, and the best friends of the bride—Missy and Kaye. The speeches were followed by the sentimental message of the father of the bride, Mr. Mario Lucas with Mrs. Fredeswinda Lucas beside him. Dexter Andrada, Dave’s brother best man, with Maan Lucas, Fides’ sister and maid of honor, made the ceremonial toast.
An onsite audio-visual presentation done flawlessly by Jojo Tatlonghari was shown to usher in the bride and the groom with their wonderful foxtrot first dance. |
